MG Bangladesh, under the distributorship of Rancon British Motors Limited, has officially accelerated the nation’s transition toward sustainable automotive technology with the high-profile launch of two new electrified SUVs MG HS Hybrid+ and the MG HS Super Hybrid (PHEV).

Unveiled at a premier event in the capital, the new lineup represents a strategic shift for the brand as it targets the growing demand for fuel efficiency and reduced emissions in the C-segment SUV market.
Leading the charge is the MG HS Super Hybrid, a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) priced at Tk 59 lakh. Designed for drivers looking to minimize fuel dependency, the vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity 24.7 kWh battery that offers a class-leading 120 km of pure electric range.
According to MG officials, this allows for emission-free daily commuting within the city. For longer cross-country journeys, the combined power of the electric motor and petrol engine offers a total driving range exceeding 1,000 km. To support new owners, the company is providing a complimentary 7.4 kW home charging station with every purchase.
The MG HS Hybrid+ features a smart hybrid powertrain delivering 221.3 bhp, seamlessly switching between electric and petrol modes based on driving conditions. It achieves up to 23.8 km/l in real-world combined fuel efficiency, ideal for city drives or long trips.
Both models introduce MG’s latest global design language, with sharp LED lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and 176 mm ground clearance optimized for local roads. Inside, they offer a fully digital cockpit centered on dual 12.3-inch screens: a touchscreen infotainment display and a digital instrument cluster. For safety, the lineup includes seven airbags plus the MG Pilot ADAS Level 2 suite with advanced driver assistance features.
At the launch, MG Bangladesh CEO Hussain Mashnoor Chowdhury emphasized the milestone: “The launch of these models reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable mobility in Bangladesh.” He noted that the new HS hybrids blend advanced technology, efficiency, and comfort to redefine benchmarks in the SUV segment.
MG Bangladesh Executive Director Muhammad Mustafizur Rashid Bhuiyan added that initial customer feedback signals strong demand for "next-generation smart mobility" among Bangladeshi buyers.
These launches help MG Bangladesh strengthen its position in the premium automotive market, providing a forward-thinking hybrid alternative to traditional engines amid the global shift to electrification.
