The government has permitted used hybrid car import along with reduced supplementary duty (SD) to boost up hybrid car sales in the country. Supplementary duty has been reduced by 5 percent to 25 percent for 0 to 1,600 cc used hybrid car import and 15 percent to 45 percent for 1,600 to 2,000 cc used hybrid car import for the fiscal year 2017-18.
